Ceremony vs Reception Location: Which to Put on Save the Dates?

This is another common question, and one that you may not even think about until

you are creating your save the date. That is exactly why we are here to help answer

your questions along the way!

Common practice when it comes to save the dates is to share the location of your

ceremony, typically in the format of “City, State.” For example, if you are getting

married at Penn Oaks, you would put “West Chester, Pennsylvania.” And then

simply include a line that states “Formal invitation to follow.” This notifies your

guests that they will be invited to your wedding and that they can expect an

invitation with more details.

The actual address of your ceremony and venue (if they are at different locations)

will go on the invitation. The save the date just acts as a sneak peek, which is

why you highlight more vague details!
